We gratefully accept donations Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 3 PM.
For food or clothing donations outside these hours, please call 503-233-5533 Ext. 101.
Food Pantry Donations
Accepted: Non-perishable foods including baby formula.
Perishable items such as milk, eggs, or meat should be confirmed by phone to ensure we have storage space.
All food must be unopened and within the “use by” date.
Garden Donations
We welcome seeds, vegetable starts, and surplus produce from home gardens. Mainspring is one of the few food banks accepting fresh produce directly from local gardeners, helping feed families and promote urban sustainability.
Re-Thread Clothing and Household Donations
Toiletries: Toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner (partially used bottles are okay if clean and sealed), body wash, and unopened makeup.
Linens: Clean towels, blankets, sheets, sleeping bags, and new pillows only.
Adult Clothing: Clean, wearable clothing of all kinds including shoes and gently used undergarments.
Children’s Items: All sizes, including shoes, toys, bottles, and undergarments.
Camping Supplies: Backpacks, duffel bags, tents, and sleeping bags.
Together, we nourish our community with food, dignity, and sustainability.

We can’t do what we do without the help and support of our wonderful volunteers. Please review our list of volunteer roles and consider donating your time to help individuals in need in our community.
There are two roles that we require immediate assistance with:
Program Support Specialist:
THIS VOLUNTEER POSITION IS A ROLE OF SMALL ROTATING HATS WITHIN OUR MAIN OFFICE. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE PROVIDING SHOPPERS AND PATRONS PROGRAM INFORMATION, FOOD BAG DISTRIBUTION, AND LIGHT DATA ENTRY, and filing of documents. THIS ROLE MAY ALSO INCLUDE RECEIVING FOOD, CLOTHING, PERSONAL HYGIENE, HOUSEHOLD DONATIONS, ALONG WITh offering RECEIPT ACCOUNTABILITY.
Mainspring Ambassador:
JOIN THE VOLUNTEER FAMILY AT MAINSPRING in this new role BY BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR FOR A GREAT CAUSE.
CAN'T PROVIDE A HAND DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS? THEN, THIS MAY BE THE IDEAL MATCH.
This role can be done during regular business or outside regular Administrative hours by helping us schedule and lock in events that would help us with our community outreach as well as preparing flyers to be handed out at events.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH may include NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTIES, MOVIES IN THE PARK, STREET FAIRS, FARMERS MARKETS, FOOD, CLOTHING, AND GIFT DRIVES, AS WELL AS NUMEROUS ADDITIONAL EVENTS,
